Contact BV Holdings Agro and request a quote

Use the form above to contact BV Holdings Agro and request a quote for container-load commodities from Cameroon. We are the agricultural trading and export subsidiary of BV Holdings PLC, based in Yaoundé. We sell to importers, commodity trading houses and food manufacturers, and we load at Douala or Kribi.
A quote request is the first step of our export process. So the details you send shape everything that follows: the offer, the sample, the contract and the shipment. A clear message saves rounds of questions on both sides.
This page explains how to write an inquiry that gets a fast, accurate offer. It includes a checklist for each product category, our sample terms, what happens after you send, and our office and port details. You will also find contact details for our group companies.

Before you contact us: are we the right fit?
We work best with buyers who import by the container. That includes importers, commodity trading houses, food manufacturers, feed mills, processors and industrial users. If you buy regularly, or plan a series of shipments, we can plan supply across the season with you.
However, some requests fall outside what we do. We do not sell retail quantities, roasted coffee or ground spice blends. We also do not supply certified lots we cannot document. So if your need sits in one of these areas, we will say so plainly rather than stretch an offer to fit.
Our range covers nine categories, from cocoa and green coffee to spices, nuts and industrial raw materials. In addition, processed cocoa products come through our cocoa division, BV Cocoa Products.

How to write an inquiry that gets a fast offer
The quickest offers go to the clearest requests. Before you contact us, it helps to have seven points ready. In short, these are the facts we need to check supply and price a lot.
- Product and grade. For example, Grade I cocoa beans, Robusta screen 16 or natural white sesame.
- Volume. The number of 20ft or 40ft containers, and whether it is one lot or a series.
- Destination port. We need it to price CFR or CIF.
- Incoterm. FOB Douala or Kribi, CFR or CIF.
- Packing. Bag type, net weight per bag and any marks.
- Tests and limits. Moisture, aflatoxin, residues or any lab you prefer.
- Shipment window. The month or period you have in mind.
Also attach your own buying spec if you have one. Then we can match the offer to it line by line, instead of guessing.
Write your spec with units and tolerances
A buying spec works best when every line has a number and a unit. For example, “moisture 8% max” is clearer than “dry”. Likewise, “aflatoxin to EU limits” is clearer than “safe”. Where a range is acceptable, give the range. Where one value is a deal-breaker, say so.
It also helps to name the test method or lab, if you have a preference. Then the offer, the contract and the inspection all measure the same thing in the same way.
An example inquiry
Here is the kind of message that gets a clear answer: “Two 40ft containers of Cameroon sesame seeds, natural white, purity 99%, moisture 8% max. CIF Mersin. New 50 kg PP bags. Aflatoxin test to EU limits. Shipment in December.” It is short, yet it answers every key question. As a result, we can check supply and price the lot without a second round of emails.
Common gaps that slow an offer
- No destination port, so we cannot price freight
- No grade, so we cannot match a lot
- Retail or small-bag quantities, which we do not supply
- Requests for certified lots we cannot document
Inquiry checklist by category: what to tell us when you contact us
Each category has its own key details. Use this table as a checklist before you contact our team. You can also browse the full commodity list first.
| Category | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Cocoa products | Beans: grade, bean count, crop (main or mid-crop), cut test limits. Derivatives: product, type, fat or FFA limits |
| Green coffee | Arabica or Robusta, screen size, defect limits, moisture, cup test needs |
| Oil seeds | Product, purity, moisture, oil content and FFA where relevant, aflatoxin limit |
| Vegetable oils | Crude palm oil or palm kernel oil, FFA limit, packing (flexitank, ISO tank or drums) |
| Animal feed | Product, protein and fat range, moisture, aflatoxin limit, bags or bulk |
| Cereals and pulses | Product, colour or type, broken grain, moisture, aflatoxin limit, fumigation needs |
| Spices | Product, whole or split, moisture, extraneous matter, residue and aflatoxin limits |
| Nuts and kola | Cashew: KOR and nut count. Kola: species, colour, fresh or dried |
| Industrial raw materials | Rubber: TSR grade. Cotton: staple, micronaire, grade. Charcoal: lump size, fixed carbon |
Not sure which grade fits your use? Then say what you make, and we will suggest a match. For example, a feed mill might compare palm kernel cake with soybean meal, while a roaster might weigh Arabica against Robusta.
Time your inquiry to the crop
Every crop has its own season, and supply follows the harvest. For this reason, it pays to contact us with the crop calendar in mind. Asking for new crop before the harvest usually means waiting for it.
| Crop | Main harvest window (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Cocoa | Main crop September to February; mid-crop May to August |
| Robusta coffee | November to February |
| Arabica coffee | October to January |
| Sesame | October to December |
| Pepper | November to March |
| Ginger | December to March |
| Maize | South: July to August and November to December; North: September to November |
These windows shift with the weather from year to year. So we confirm what is available for your shipment window in each offer. For more detail, see our Cameroon harvest calendar.

Sample requests
Where relevant, we send a sample with or after the offer. A sample lets your lab or end buyer test the product before you commit. For example, a chocolate maker may run a cut test on cocoa beans, while a grain buyer may check moisture and broken grain.
To request a sample, please contact us with:
- The product and grade you want to test
- The volume you plan to buy if the sample suits you
- A full delivery address and a named recipient
- Any import permit your country needs for plant samples
Sample terms, such as courier costs, are agreed case by case. Some countries restrict plant samples, so check your own rules first. In addition, a sample shows a lot’s typical quality. Final specifications are confirmed in each contract and verified before loading.
What happens after you contact us
Once your inquiry reaches us, it moves through the same steps every time. We do not promise fixed reply times, because supply checks depend on the crop and the season. However, the order of steps never changes.
| Stage | What we do | What you may receive |
|---|---|---|
| Review | Read your inquiry and check for gaps | A short list of questions, if anything is missing |
| Supply check | Check availability with producer groups and aggregators in the regions | A note on what is available for your window |
| Offer | Prepare a written offer on your Incoterm | Price, typical specification, packing, port and documents |
| Sample | Send a sample where relevant | A sealed, labelled sample for your tests |
| Contract | Draft the sales contract | Spec, price, Incoterm, payment terms, inspection method and shipment window |
After the contract, you arrange payment security, and we prepare and inspect the goods. Our export process page covers those later steps. In short, one clear contact on each side keeps the whole chain moving.
Payment and inspection questions
Payment terms are agreed per contract. Common options include a letter of credit or documentary collection. Independent inspection can be arranged at your request, for example by SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or Cotecna. Our quality and sourcing page explains the checks in detail.
Why prices are not on this site
Buyers sometimes ask for a price list. We do not publish one, because commodity prices move with world markets, the crop and freight. Instead, every price sits in a written offer for a defined lot.
Several factors shape an offer:
- World markets. Cocoa, coffee and many other crops trade against global benchmarks.
- Grade and spec. Tighter limits usually mean more sorting and a higher price.
- Season. Supply is strongest after the harvest and thinner before it.
- Incoterm and port. CFR and CIF include sea freight, and CIF adds insurance.
- Packing and tests. Special bags, liners or extra lab reports add cost.
So the more exact your inquiry, the more exact the price. Each offer also states how long it stays valid.
Check that an offer is genuine
Our email address ends in @bvholdingsagro.com. If you receive an offer in our name from any other address, please check it with us by phone first. It is a simple step, yet it protects both sides.
Our office and ports: where to contact and find us
Office in Yaoundé
Our office is at Montée Mech Cam, Yaoundé, Cameroon. Yaoundé is the capital, in the Centre region, which is also one of the main cocoa-growing areas. To find us, use these location codes:
- Plus Code: R3W+PR4, Yaoundé
- SnooCODE: 4AS-GFU
Visits are by appointment. So please contact us first, and we will arrange a time.
Loading ports: Douala and Kribi
We load at two ports. Douala is Cameroon’s main port, on the Wouri estuary, and handles most of the country’s trade. Kribi, further south on the Atlantic coast, is a deep-water port. The right port depends on the product, the shipping line and the vessel.
We quote FOB Douala or Kribi, CFR your destination port, or CIF your destination port with minimum cargo insurance. For a side-by-side view, read our guide to FOB vs CIF.
Repeat orders and series shipments
Many buyers start with one container and then move to regular shipments. If that is your plan, tell us when you first contact us. A series contract can set the spec, packing and inspection once, while each shipment gets its own window and documents.
Planning ahead also helps with supply. Because we buy from producer groups and aggregators, a clear view of your volume across the season lets us line up lots early. As a result, each shipment is easier to prepare and inspect.
