Where do Cameroon cocoa beans come from?

Most Cameroon cocoa is grown by smallholder farmers in the Centre, South, East and South-West regions. BV Holdings Agro sources from these producing regions and consolidates lots for export.

When is the Cameroon cocoa harvest?

The main crop runs from about September to February, with a smaller mid-crop from about May to August. Availability of specific grades varies through the season.

Does BV Holdings Agro sell cocoa powder or cocoa butter?

Yes. Processed cocoa products such as powder and butter are supplied through BV Cocoa Products (bvcocoaproducts.com), the cocoa division of BV Holdings Agro.

How are cocoa beans graded for export?

Export cocoa is graded on moisture, bean count and a cut test for mouldy, slaty and defective beans. The agreed grade is written into the contract and checked before loading.
